Open Studio resides underneath Scarlet Letter Book store in one of Plymouth’s oldest buildings. Prior to 151 Main St being purchased, it was a furniture store for decades. The studio was likely just storage but their merchandise but now it has transformed into something new. Along with all the other businesses in the “Artisan’s Alley” it is a unique destination for professional makers and hobby artists to visit and enjoy.
Open Studio was founded in 2026 and woman owned. It’s a space built on sustainably sourced materials, community donations, and thrift stores. Open Studio Plymouth is built on the belief that creativity thrives when people have access to space, tools, and each other. This business is designed to be flexible, financially responsible, and responsive to the needs of the people it serves. Open Studio Plymouth aims to become a lasting resource within the town of Plymouth and beyond. The studio balances an eco-friendly vision with purpose, ensuring that growth does not come at the expense of our values. At its heart, this business exists to give people a place to create, connect, and feel a sense of belonging through art.
About The Owner
For as long as I can remember, I have been a creative being. One of my earliest memories include my mother and I learning the alphabet in the kitchen and drawing an apple for the letter A. As a child I would create the most elaborate castles of cardboard boxes, paper mache my own easter baskets and hand crafted my own Halloween costumes. I grew up with creative parents who let me flourish into the passionately creative person I am. Through the years of exploring art, I have worked with many mediums; clay, paint, digital, plaster, even welding. As an artist, I refer to myself as multimedia because I intentionally use mediums that best suit my ideas and what I want to say
As an artist, I am sensitive to the present moment and my surroundings. I see an artistic moment wherever I go, and I let that drive my creative process. One of my favorite things about making art is the process. So much magic can happen in your studio session if you trust your creative self and lean into what you are creating. In addition to that, the meditation that comes with creating art is a large reason I create almost every day. On some days I am working towards a long-term art piece. On other days, you can find me playing with new mediums, experimenting with different textures or leaning into my creative urges.
